Meet Jessica:
I have always loved and believed in therapeutic touch. Since receiving massage therapy from a young age, I knew that I wanted to help people feel better through hands on therapy. Miraculous things happen when you listen to what your body is trying to tell you through your tissues.
In August 2008 I graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, and since then have continued to expand my knowledge in Myofascial Release therapy. I’ve recently completed a course which integrates Craniosacral Therapy and Myofasical Release therapy. I’ve also taken dissection courses that opened my eyes to how the human body looks like underneath the skin.
During treatment, I treat tissues with a Fascial perspective. Using a combination of mainly Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Swedish massage, and deep tissue work; I learn from the body to see what works best for releasing tension. I also use trigger point release, stretches and compressive work when needed. While working with patients, communication is important, so don’t hesitate to let me know if anything is uncomfortable.
Being a therapist requires maintenance; physically and mentally. I swim, run, cook, box, practice yoga and pilates on occasion, and sail boat race. There are always 3-5 books on the go, and my playlist makes me feel like I have a theme song for every activity.
When I’m not at work, I'm out sailing on English bay, running the seawall, or you may see me window shopping for something fabulous to wear or cook! I can’t stay away from the smell of fresh roasted coffee beans, or a glass of cold beer on a hot summers day!
